Show Luo – Hot Shot theme MV

Show Luo’s amazing music video for the theme song of his drama Hot Shot. This type isn’t usually to my taste, but I love Show so much that I’m interested to see any direction he goes in, and this is certainly a new one.

He was compared to both Usher and Michael Jackson in this vid 🙂

Hot Shot

Hot Shot is a recent Taiwanese drama that just finished airing in November. It stars music idols/popstars and actors Show Luo, Jerry Yan(from former music group F4) and Wu Zun(from current music group Fahrenheit). It’s a sports drama, which means I would normally stay far away from it, but with a cast like this…I just couldn’t resist. I am currently a little more than halfway through it.

In a school where academic reigns supreme and sports are relegated to a dusty corner of the campus, Li Ying vows to revive the basketball team by volunteering to be the head coach. Her first member is Yuan Da Ying, a country boy who is passionate for basketball but has no skill. Their recruitment goes into high gear when Dong Fang Xiang, a legendary basketball player, transfers to their school.

Around the same time, Yuan Da Ying falls for Zhan Jie Er, a scholarship student who reminds him of his childhood friend. Things are complicated by the fact her family works for Dong Fang Xiang, who she also grew up with. Their encounter may just rewrite the school’s basketball history.

Crushing on Ice(get the pun?)

Newest crush of the month:

Ice, known by fans as Ice Saranyu, real name Saranyu Winaipanit, the top Thailand music star. He came out in 2006 with his first album entitled – wait for it – “Ice” and apparently shot straight to uber-popularity. Which is understandable given that the boy is very very pretty, has a smooth voice which can hit the screaming notes pretty well, and can angst with the best of them. Observe the following video.

From what I can tell he generally makes lost-love ballads(following the golden rule of boy-bands). And is it just me, or does he bear a striking resemblance to Taiwan’s Alan Luo, mixed Nicholas Teo’s smile?

Eyecandy of the Day-Alan Luo

Eyecandy Sunday

It’s time for another Eyecandy day, in which I feature a particular Asian star for your viewing pleasure, and this time around it’s Alan Luo, more commonly known as Show Luo, a Taiwanese actor and singer who caught my eye in the drama Corner with Love with Barbie Xu. Alan is not only highly talented as both a singer and an actor, but he’s also ridiculously pretty, with a boyish, innocent smile that kills me every time.
